Medical Attendant Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("T&C") specify the expectations and responsibilities for medical attendants registered under MEDICA. By registering with MEDICA, you agree to adhere to these T&C.

  1. Job Description
  2. Medical attendants are responsible for providing support and assistance to patients, healthcare professionals, and the institution. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Assisting with patient care as directed by the patient or the guardian of the patient.
    • Assisting with patient care as directed by healthcare professionals.
    • Being present at patient locations as but not limited to house, hospital or care giver centers.
    • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in patient care areas.
    • Supporting administrative tasks, such as patient records and inventory management, on time medical administration.
  3. Professional Conduct
  4. Medical attendants shall maintain the highest professional and ethical standards. This includes complying with the codes of conduct and ethics established by the healthcare professionals, Patients or their guardians, and involved Institutions.

  5. Patient Care
  6. Medical attendants shall treat all patients with respect, dignity, and compassion. They must:
    • Follow established protocols and guidelines for patient care.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
    • Report any patient concerns or changes to healthcare providers.
  7. Collaboration
  8. Medical attendants shall work closely and collaboratively with patients, patient’s guardians, healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

  9. Training and Education
  10. Medical attendants are requested to participate in ongoing training and education to enhance their skills and stay current with best practices in the healthcare field.

  11. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
  12. Medical attendants must comply with all relevant laws and regulations prevailing in Sri Lanka and guidelines provided by the employer, medical professional or institute.

  13. Reporting of Errors and Incidents
  14. Medical attendants must promptly report any errors, incidents, or safety concerns to their employers, medical professionals or institutes and actively participate in the quality improvement programs.

  15. Confidentiality
  16. Medical attendants shall maintain strict patient confidentiality, refraining from disclosing or discussing patient information with unauthorized individuals.

  17. Termination of Employment
  18. MEDICA reserves the right to terminate the employment of medical attendants for just cause, including violations of these T&C or any other acts deemed unethical or go against social norms.

  19. Fees and Payment:
    1. The First Party will charge the Second Party according to the rates specified at the time of signing up which could change from time to time.
    2. Fees are based on the number of bookings made via the MEDICA platform and will be calculated monthly.
    3. An electronically generated invoice will be provided to the Second Party by the end of each month.
    4. The invoice amount is due for payment within 15 days from the invoice's generation.
    5. Any disputes or queries regarding invoice errors must be communicated in writing to the First Party within seven days from the invoice's generation. If no query is received within this time, the Second Party is deemed to have accepted the invoice's accuracy.
    6. If there is a dispute, the Second Party should pay the undisputed amount while the dispute is resolved.
  20. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
  21. These T&C may be updated by MEDICA at any time, with or without notice.
